Earlier this week, the BiteBuddy team spotted actual signs of life at the old Tian Shi Fu unit. Construction crews were on-site, the doors were open, and the building was buzzing with workers moving materials in and out.
Seeing construction carts and active renovations at this address is a massive deal, especially since the Bellwether Hotpot Richmond opening has been stuck in limbo since 2024.
What’s the Hold Up?
It’s been a long road for 8251 Alexandra Road. While it shares a name with the popular All-You-Can-Eat Korean BBQ spot in Seattle, the Richmond version has always teased a hybrid “Hotpot and Grill” concept.
The big question now is whether this sudden construction surge is the final push for Bellwether, or if the lease has finally changed hands to a new mystery tenant. Either way, seeing workers inside suggests that the “deep sleep” this unit was in is officially over.
