This is huge. After the BTS meal left us all scrambling for happy meals a couple months back, McDonald’s is diving back into the K-pop world—and this time, it’s a full-on “Adult Happy Meal” experience inspired by the Netflix hit KPop Demon Hunters.

For those of us in Vancouver who were worried we’d be watching from the sidelines while the US got all the cool sauces, breathe a sigh of relief: Canada is officially part of the tour. Here is the breakdown of the “Battle for the Fans” menu and why you might want to start clearing space on your shelf (or your eBay watch list).

Canada is Officially on the Tour

For a minute there, it felt like Canada was being left out of the demon-hunting business. But McDonald’s Canada has confirmed a May 12th launch date.

While the US menu is already live, we’re still waiting to see if Canada gets the exact same lineup or a “Canadian remix.” Based on the global rollout, here is the likely spread:

The HUNTR/X Meal (Lunch/Dinner)

This is the 10-piece Chicken McNuggets® set inspired by the movie’s heroines—Rumi, Mira, and Zoey.

  • The Sauces: You get the sweet-chili Hunter Sauce and the viral Demon Sauce (yes, it’s purple!).
  • Ramyeon McShaker™ Fries: This is the one we’re most hyped for. You get a seasoning packet with soy, garlic, and toasted sesame to shake into your fries.
  • The Derpy McFlurry: We’re also expecting the Derpy McFlurry—vanilla soft serve with berry-flavoured popping pearls and wild berry sauce, inspired by the movie’s tiger sidekick.

The Saja Boys Breakfast Meal

For the morning crowd, the Spicy Sausage McMuffin® features a peppery “Saja Sauce” that fans are already calling a game-changer for the breakfast menu. It’s paired with a hash brown and a “soda pop” (small soft drink).

The Real Prize: The Collectible Photocards 🃏

These aren’t your typical Happy Meal toys. These are high-quality, holographic photocards that are already creating a massive secondary market.

What you need to know about the cards:

The Set: There are 13 or 14 unique designs to collect (depending on the region).

The Rarity: Keep a close eye on the back of your cards. Look for symbols (gems or diamonds) that indicate rarity.

The “Chase” Card: The “Rumi & Jinu Holding Hands” card is the ultra-rare pull of the set. On eBay, full sets are already being listed for $200+, and individual rare cards are going for a premium.

Pro-Tip: Check the code under the foil wrapper flap! Collectors are already building databases to figure out which card is inside without opening the pack (though your local McDonald’s worker might not let you pick and choose!).

Since Canada is getting this a bit later than the US, we have the advantage of knowing what to look for. If the “Purple Demon Sauce” is as tangy and bold as they say, it’s going to sell out fast.
