Remember that colourful dumpling spot we’ve been eyeing on Kingsway? Well, Baohaus is now open, and it turns out our “dumpling shop” hunch was only half the story.
We swung by the old Xing Fu Tang space recently, and the place was already packed.

The Dumpling Rainbow
First things first—the dumplings. They’re handmade, naturally colourful (that pink dough is a vibe), and super budget-friendly. Most of them sit right around $1 each, which is a total steal in 2026.
What’s cool is how flexible the menu is. You’re not locked into a massive plate if you’re just snacky:
- The Mix & Match: Grab a set of 8 or 16, or just snag 2 if you want to try a specific flavour.
- Take Home: They even sell them frozen in bulk, so you can have a dumpling party in your pajamas later.

Wait, Is This a Coffee Shop?
This is where it gets interesting. Baohaus isn’t just steaming baskets; they have a full-blown coffee program. We’re talking proper Americanos, lattes, and—of course—a solid lineup of matcha drinks.

If you’re not in a “savoury” mood, they’ve got these massive, decked-out dessert croissants. They only have three flavours right now, but they look incredible. Pricing is pretty fair too, ranging from $6.50 to $7.50 for a pastry that’s honestly big enough to share (if you’re feeling generous).

The “One-Piece” Merch
The branding here is super clean, so it’s no surprise they’re selling merch. But instead of a full clothing line, they just have one thing: a really cute Baohaus-branded coffee mug. It’s minimal, it’s aesthetic, and it kind of perfectly sums up the whole “dumplings-meet-espresso” vibe they’ve got going on.

Hungry for the Full Story?
While this post covers the basics of the opening, there is a lot of heart behind this new spot. Our co-founder sat down with the owner, Jin, to talk about the “working mom” philosophy that inspired these hours and why they use natural ingredients like Cuttlefish Ink and Red Yeast Rice for their signature dough.
