If you caught our update last week about the sudden closure of YGF Malatang (YGF Noodles) on Ackroyd Road, we already have some news. The unit—located just two doors down from the ever-popular Bigway Hot Pot—didn’t stay empty for long.
New signage has officially gone up for Chengdu Noodle (傚鄀麵館), and it looks like they are bringing a massive menu of Sichuan-style comfort food to the neighbourhood.
Fresh, Spicy, and Authentic
Their slogan, “现场制作: Fresh, Spicy, Authentic,” gives us a pretty good idea of what they’re aiming for. Based on the new boards, we aren’t just getting another generic noodle shop. They are planning to focus on:
Street Eats & Specialty Snacks: We’re hoping to see some authentic Chengdu-style pancakes on this list!
Handmade Steamed Buns: A huge win for the breakfast and snack crowd.
Wontons & Dumplings: Classic Chengdu-style staples.
House Special Noodles: Expect some serious spice.
Chengdu Mala Hotpot Bowls: Because it’s 2026, and a menu without mala just wouldn’t feel right.

Current Status
We managed to take a quick peek inside, and it looks like they are still in the middle of setting up the interior. While the furniture isn’t in place yet, the fact that the signage is already fully installed suggests they are pushing for a quick opening.

It’s great to see a spot focusing on “freshly made” items—that usually means the quality is going to be a step up from the usual pre-packaged noodle kits.
We’ll be keeping a close eye on the progress at Chengdu Noodle, so stay tuned for an official opening date! In the meantime, follow us on Instagram @bitebuddyeats for the latest food news. 🥢✨
