We usually talk about where to find the best late-night brisket on No. 3 Road, but something really heavy happened this past Friday night that we all need to be aware of.
If you were anywhere near Bamboo Grove Restaurant around 10:00 p.m. on April 24th, you might have seen a chaotic scene in the parking lot. What looked like a quick scuffle was actually a Bamboo Grove Richmond kidnapping that happened so fast—in less than a minute—it has the whole community on edge.
The 60-Second Breakdown
CCTV footage released by the RCMP shows a man walking to his car with a takeout bag—just a normal Friday night. As he opens his trunk, a white Volkswagen Jetta pulls up, a hooded man jumps out, and a struggle starts. A second guy jumps out of a nearby pickup truck to help, and they force the victim into the truck before speeding off in opposite directions.
The scariest part? The entire incident took less than 60 seconds. The victim’s trunk was left wide open in a crowded lot while people watched in shock. Some ran for cover, while others ran toward the scene to see what was happening, but by then, it was already over.
What to Look For (The Suspect Truck)
The police initially thought they were looking for a Ford, but they’ve corrected that. They are now hunting for a grey 2013 Dodge Ram 1500. This truck is very distinct, so keep your eyes peeled for:
- The Details: It has a sunroof, mud flaps, and a triple ball hitch.
- The Plate: It was spotted with B.C. plate RF541V.
- The History: This truck was actually reported stolen from Maple Ridge back in September 2025.
