If you’ve ever been to Sushi Lovers’ original location, you know the vibe — now they’ve brought that to Park Road with a much larger spot. Opened last October, this location is just a short walk from Richmond Centre on Park Road, with a shared parking lot (including Deer One Hotpot and Sungiven Foods) and free parking if you register your plate when checking in.
We visited on a Friday night with a party of four, and it was busy — good thing we booked ahead. There was a line waiting when we arrived, and it stayed pretty full throughout our visit.
Atmosphere & Seating
The interior is… bold. Everything is black — walls, seating, and even the accents — with lots of cat-themed decorations. They also feature an open sushi bar, so you can watch the chefs work, and you can even sit at the bar for a more authentic experience. We opted for the booths for our group.

A quirky detail: there’s a half wall that separates the dining area from the back storage, which leaves the packing boxes and fridge in full view. It’s a bit distracting and I think finishing that wall would make the dining space feel more polished.

Service
Our server immediately recommended daily specials and popular menu items, which is helpful if you’re unsure what to order. Honestly, it felt a little like pressure to order what she suggested, so I’d probably prefer going through the menu myself next time. Still, service was friendly and attentive.

Food Highlights
Assorted Tempura: Wow. For $11.95, you get 10 pieces, beautifully presented in a deep-fryer basket with a wooden platform for dipping sauce. The yam tempura with onions was surprisingly delicious, and the broccoli tempura was a rare find. Highly recommend.

Sashimi: Fresh, especially the salmon. The price is very reasonable, though if you’re looking for thick slices, Sushi Mura still wins for sashimi-to-dollar ratio.

Rolls:
- Mango California Roll: My favourite roll that I order from every sushi spot that serves it. Decent, though still not as good as Sushi Han.
- Roll Combo 2: Comes with a California roll, dynamite roll, salmon maki, and tuna maki. Overall basic but solid value.
- Chopped Scallop Roll: fresh scallops, pretty good.

Beef Teriyaki Donburi: A surprise hit. Generous portion of flavourful, not-too-fatty beef with a subtle smoky taste.

Miso Gindari Black Cod: Slightly disappointing. Well-cooked fish, but the miso flavour felt really separate from the fish. Served with a small salad.
Yakitori: Standard, with teriyaki sauce and sesame seeds. Came with a small salad.

Overall, the food quality was solid, portions generous, and prices very good for Richmond. You can spend more if you go for their premium daily fish specials, but the classic items offer great value.
